Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Commissioner Mike Duheme has no doubt that the Chinese are running police stations out of Chinese organizations in Montreal. “All I’m saying is that the information that was brought to us was credible enough for us to launch an investigation. That investigation is still ongoing at this time,” is what CBC’s Catharine Tunney quoted the commissioner as saying. The investigation the commissioner is referring to has been going on for over a year and it involves two Chinese organizations, Servie a la Famille Chinois du Grand Montreal (Chinese Family Service of Greater Montreal) and the Centre Sino-Quebec de la Rive-Sud. Both organizations deny the allegations that they are letting the Chinese government use any of their spots as cop shops.
They believe the fact that the police are taking over a year to find evidence is evidence that the police don’t have evidence. The police, though, say they have a lot of evidence. And evidence of their evidence is the fact that Xi Jinping and his Communists duds and duddites have set up over 100 cop shops in over 53 countries. Canada, the U.S., and Britain are among the 53 countries that say the Chinese police are illegally policing in.
Servie a la Famille Chinois du Grand Montreal (Chinese Family Service of Greater Montreal) and the Centre Sino-Quebec de la Rive-Sud says all of that ain’t nothing but good ol’ fashion profiling. Here the RCMP is branding them, two Chinese organizations, as China’s toadies when all they are doing is helping folks of Asian descent to find a job, home, food, car, and a doctor in Canada after they get there. The alleged branding has made Servie a la Famille Chinois du Grand Montreal (Chinese Family Service of Greater Montreal) and the Centre Sino-Quebec de la Rive-Sud file a multi-million dollar lawsuit for loss of money, discrimination, and defamation.
The lawyer representing the Chinese organizations says the 365 plus days investigation has gotten his clients nothing but side-eyes and hol-e pockets. The government, banks, and other folks who use to do business with them don’t do business with them anymore. Servie a la Famille Chinois du Grand Montreal (Chinese Family Service of Greater Montreal) and the Centre Sino-Quebec de la Rive-Sud says the only way the police can right them of all of that wrong is to write a check that has more than $4.9 million written on it.
RCMP Commish, however, doesn’t give a pop sickle on a hot day about what Servie a la Famille Chinois du Grand Montreal (Chinese Family Service of Greater Montreal) and the Centre Sino-Quebec de la Rive-Sud are going through. The evidence is the evidence. As far as the good commish is concerned, the evidence says they are guiltier than a gigolo going out the back door.
The one thing the Servie a la Famille Chinois du Grand Montreal (Chinese Family Service of Greater Montreal) and the Centre Sino-Quebec de la Rive-Sud are able to hang their hats on is the fact that Lady Justice has the final say. Sure, the evidence is the evidence. But, if Lady Justice says the evidence has been nothing more than a year-long fishing expedition turning up weeds, then a pay-day is what Servie a la Famille Chinois du Grand Montreal (Chinese Family Service of Greater Montreal) and the Centre Sino-Quebec de la Rive-Sud will be getting!
